The Blitzboks were the winners of the 2016/17 World Series and without question, the dominant side all year. Winning five of the ten tournaments, South Africa’s worst placing was sixth in Singapore. Form winning a Bronze medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics to winning the top title of the World Series Sevens, everyone will watching with baited breath to see what the South African squad does next.
The world’s largest diamond was found in the Premier Mine in Pretoria, South Africa on 25 January 1905. The 3,106-carat stone weighed 603 grams and was called the ‘Cullinan’ after the owner of the mine.

Chris Dry has been a part of the South African Sevens squad since 2010. But the 2016/2017 saw Dry and the South Africans go above and beyond – scoring 19 tries for the Blitzboks. Eyes will be on Dry to see if he can consistently deliver some more stellar performances in 2017/2018.
