England had a very strong season during the 2016/2017 World Series, and will be looking to claim the top gong after finishing second last year. England won both the Cape Town and Vancouver tournaments and were runners up at both Sydney and London. At the Rio Olympics, Great Britain – which encompasses England, Wales and Scotland, claimed the Silver medal. Recently at the Oktoberfest Sevens in Munich, England just missed out on Bronze, after losing out to South Africa in the final. England will be looking to claim the top title this 2017/2018 season after coming so close last season.

Player to watch:
Callum Sirker only made his first appearance for England at the Singapore Sevens tournament in April 2017 and scored two tries off the bench on his debut. While he’s only been apart of the England squad for a short time, he’s made a big impact. At the recent Oktoberfest Sevens in Munich, Sirker scored a hatrick that secured his team a place in the semi-finals. This young gun will certainly be one to watch.
